- Gabriel - 54.6 lbs (overweight)
- Sam - 17.6 lbs (really overweight)
- Jack - 12.4 lbs
- Moses - 11.7 lbs
- David - 18.1 lbs (and still growing)
The one I'm most concerned about is Sam. She's huge! And she has degenerative arthritis in her elbows so the extra weight is particularly hard on her.
Overweight Sam
She needs to lose at least 3 lbs, but would be better off losing 4 or 5 lbs. So almost a month ago, I started restricting everyone's food intake. And after 2 weeks, I weighed Sam again. Somehow she gained 0.2 lbs! I have no idea how that's possible.
Too lazy to stand and drink
I cut back their food even more. And after another 2 weeks, I weighed Sam, Jack and David. Each one of them weighs exactly the same as their last weigh in. I have now put all food completely out of Sam's reach and will give her a tiny bit in a little bowl twice a day. She already acts like she's starving, but I don't know what else to do.
She also gets 2 Temptations every other day with her medication. This medicine is a liquid that I have to put on top of her food. Is it possible that these treats have the equivalent calories to a slice of cheesecake? (That's how I gained 10 lbs over the winter.)
If you have any kitty weight loss advice, please pass it on. I could really use it.
Until later...
"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you"
